The most “urban” cove that we can enjoy from the starting point of Minorboats, a very large but closed beach, so it is very protected from the waves.
What to see. Departure Point and Navigation Zone
The place of departure of our boats is Cala Galdana.
If we go to the West (from our starting point, to the right), we find coves in order:
Cala Macarella and Macarelleta
The perfect example of “postal” coves are the most frequented and it is not for less. Macarella is wider and is surrounded by vertical rock walls which makes it sheltered from the wind.
Macarelleta is her little sister is next to Macarella just as nice but somewhat smaller.
Cala Turqueta
It is one of the most beautiful coves in all of Menorca, white and fine sand, pines glued to the sea and with a water that as its name suggests has some beautiful turquoise tones.
Small rocky ledges separate the cove in two.
Cala des Talaier
Small virgin cove, very close to the beach of Son Saura, is not so protected from the wind since the walls are not so high. But it has a large area to anchor.
Playa de Son Saura
It would be our limit of navigation in the West. This cove is one of the largest beaches in the South zone.
Set of two beaches separated by some rocks of low height. Surrounded by pine trees and white sand, it has a large anchoring area.
Map of the coves
If we go to the East (from our starting point, to the left), we find coves in order:
Cala Galdana
The most “urban” cove that we can enjoy from the starting point of Minorboats, a very large but closed beach, so it is very protected from the waves.
Cala Mitjana and Cala Mitjaneta
Obliged visit. Pines, white sand, turquoise water and transparent, protected from the wind by high cliffs, possibility of jumping from a certain height from the rock (beware!).
Sometimes in the left zone (seen from the sea) a small area with sand accumulates to what is called Cala Mitjaneta.
Cala Trebalúger
Virgin cove since it only has access through the sea or on foot through trails. It has relatively wide space in the sand. The cliffs are medium in size and the pines almost reach the water.
There is a small river or torrent In the left zone (seen from the sea) called Trabalúger that gives name to the cove. Great space to anchor although it is somewhat more open to the wind.
Cala Escorxada
One of the most beautiful virgin coves in the South. Access on foot or through the sea. It makes it less frequented than other more famous coves but with access by car.
Fine sand, turquoise water and transparent, beautiful to snorkel. Fairly exposed to the wind compared to other coves in the south.
Cala Fustam
Next to Cala Escorxada, we could say that it is his little sister. It is a completely isolated cove, it can only be accessed through the sea or on foot.
It is very rare to find this cove full of people, so it is a good option for those people who want to enjoy the cove with relative tranquility.
